Atheists need Christians and they both need God

In our illusory world of opposites and extremes, it seems like there really are distinct, separate things, people, and belief systems.

Atheists will claim there is no God, and Christians will claim that there is a God.

Both are dependent on God, to either deny or believe in.

Why not just focus on the common element, and see through the dualistic dreams?

Just take it back to the simplist element. God IS.

What is God? God is Love!

On Caterpillars, and Butterflies,

This is inspired by something I heard in one of Adyashanti's satsangs.

Caterpillar: Wow, you're a butterfly! You must be really good at crawling now! Can you teach me how to crawl as fast and as high as you?

Butterfly: Hmm, how do I best explain this...

This is the dilemma in a nutshell. The caterpillar and the butterfly are of the same essence, the same Source. Indeed, they are ultimately one creature in different forms.

The butterfly remembers what it was like to be a caterpillar, having been there, and done that.

The caterpillar does not yet understand the way of the butterfly, yet carries that potential within itself. It tries to relate to the butterfly from its caterpillarity.

The truth of the butterfly is not in being better than the catterpillar. It is in seeing that both are one and the same.

Just because we have been through a lot of crawling doesn't mean we start flying over everyone, once we realize we've always been flown by Love's wings.

Am I done yet?

On long drives with my parents, I would be in the backseat impatiently waiting to get to our destination (usually Florida.) Like so many other youngsters, I would commonly ask "Are we there yet?" Or some equally irritating variation of that question like "When will we get there?"

Fast forward to my enlightenment game. I wanted to be "done", to reach the final place as soon as possible. I wanted to arrive at the destination as quickly as possible.

Then what? Even if there was some final realization, some final resting place I would still be aware of getting there, and it would just become another memory.

Maybe what I really wanted was simply to enjoy Being, and never getting there at all.

Being here is enough, there's no need to get anywhere.

There is no-'where' to get to anyway. Where would it be if I got there?
It would be Here all over again.

Grass-Roots Awakening

It's up to the writer and the reader of these words to facilitate and cooperate with the awakening of our consciousness. We can't wait for the government, we can't wait for religious leaders, we can't wait for corporations.

It's you and I, loving what is rather than fearing what might be.

It's the love shared at home in our families, and out in the community.

It's the simple helping hand of humanity, in whatever way it comes.

It's a grass-roots awakening in ordinary lives.

How Subtle are concepts, how Obvious is Love

Deeper and deeper into dreamland,
Almost woken up, keep going, one more layer!

Arriving at the goal, any minute now,
Moving amongst the swirling wants and fears

Never ariving, always striving.

How far is love really?
Even 'here' is too far,
More near than here,
All love and no fear.

Stillness shining in plain sight- why do we rearrange a dream?
